Since global warming is the greatest threat of our time (yes, it’s more dangerous than terrorism – I explain how during my interview on the Keyboard Culture Podcast section of this site), it is eminently appropriate that global warming and Al Gore are inexorably linked.
As I have written previously, the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Mr. Gore and the United Nations this year is wonderful. The whole panoply of results of this historic moment may not be known for generations. Savor this moment, my friend, whether you consider yourself an environmentalist or not. This moment is every bit as significant in human history as the invention of the atomic bomb, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
I know for a fact that Mr. Gore has no objection with being linked with global warming advocacy. To me, it’s an enviable position. Congratulations, sir! There's hope for all of us!
